Leo, the upcoming film starring Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay, has earned Rs 246 crore from internet, satellite, and soundtrack rights.

The Lokesh Kanagaraj-directed film (previously in the headlines for "Vikram") rapidly attracted a sizable audience after its introduction and promotional efforts.

The last Kanagaraj film "Vikram," which starred Kamal Haasan, broke box office records, and the upcoming film "Leo," in which he will collaborate with Thalapathy Vijay, appears to be headed in the same route.

The movie was made for about Rs 250 crore, and Tracktollywood.com reports that it has already grossed an astounding Rs 246 crore. The movie made Rs 150 crore from its digital rights, Rs 80 crore from its satellite rights, and Rs 16 crore from its music rights.

Bollywood superstar Sanjay Dutt plays the anti-hero in the film, and as a result, the Hindi dubbing rights have brought in a lot of money.

Expectations are high for Kanagaraj and Vijay to reunite for "Leo" because their last film, "Master," was a huge hit.

IANS was informed by sources in the Tamil film business that such a large sum was not anticipated during the early phases of a movie's promotion.

The 14-year separation between Vijay and Trisha is also depicted in the movie. Arjun Sarja, Mansoor Ali Khan, Gautam Vasudev Menon, and Priya Anand are other actors playing the key parts.

While everything is going on, the movie's YouTube advertisement has also become a huge hit around the world, even outpacing the views of the Shah Rukh Khan-starring films "Jawan" and "Tiger 3."
