The following film from actor and composer GV Prakash Kumar, 'Kalvan' has PV Shankar as the first-time director. Ivana is the female lead in the film, and Bharathiraja and Dheena are rumoured to have significant roles. The first single from the movie, 'Adi Kattazhagu Karuvaachi' was released by actor Karthi in January, while actor Suriya had already published the teaser.

The entire movie was filmed in Kadampur's mountainous villages, which are a part of the Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve. The song was written by Maya Mahalingam (Pallavi) and Ekadesi (Saranam), and it was performed by GV Prakash.
