The bilingual film Vaathi [Tamil]/SIR [Telugu] starring Dhanush opened in theatres on February 17, 2023, and it has now played for one week. According to the most recent information, Vaathi/SIR will be released on streaming services on Wednesday, March 22, 2023. The digital rights to the film are held by Netflix for both languages.


However, a formal confirmation of the same is still pending. Vaathi/SIR, written and directed by Venky Atluri, was Dhanush's debut Telugu film. A joint production of Sithara Entertainments, Fortune Four Cinemas, and Srikara Studios, the film also features Samyuktha, P. Sai Kumar, Tanikella Bharani, and Samuthirakani.

Vaathi/SIR runs for 2 hours and 19 minutes and has music by GV Prakash and cinematography by J. Yuvaraj.
