Since its debut last week, "Vaathi," the most recent Tamil-Telugu bilingual movie featuring actor Dhanush, has raked in more than 60 crores at the global box office.
After "Thiruchitrambalam," Dhanush's most recent Tamil film, "Vaathi," has proven to be a hit. This marks the actor's second straight success. Positive reviews from viewers have been left for the film, which released on February 17 and stars Dhanush as a professor battling to alter the educational system in the 1990s.

Tamil and Telugu versions of the movie, which was directed by Venky Atluri, were both released at the same time. The Tamil version was called "Vaathi," while the Telugu version was called "SIR." Vaathi's plot, which explores the problem of privatisation in the school system and one man's fight against it, was inspired, according to Atluri, during a pre-release press interview, by a few episodes from his own experiences as a student.
The movie is doing well, according to trade analyst Trinath, and its message—that education should be accessible and affordable for everyone—has contributed to this success.
